If you are like most people, you want to feel good about being alive. You don't want to feel like you are being imprisoned in your body for some hellish existence on earth. Many people today are either overweight, malnurished, out of shape or a combination of the three. A person can suffer from all three and feel the drag of life in forms of low self esteem, fatigue, dehydration, anemia, and a host of other illnesses. In the long term, these conditions will contribute to something that will end your life early.

You should believe you are worthy for a better life, but should know everything worthwhile takes effort. The more you want out of life, the more effort will be required on your part.

Write down all the things you want to do with your life. Don't worry about how impossible it may sound in your current situation, just write down all the things that you REALLY want to do if you had the time, money, ability and resources. Also, write down how you would like to be remembered when you die by writing a eulogy to yourself.

Things you want to do in your life can be accomplished if you really want to work for it. If you don't wish to put forth the effort in achieving those goals, then you can't be serious about them and may want to try a lesser goal. Some things may require you to obtain further education, others may require saving money or making personal connections or doing extra work. Think of those little chores you must do to get what you want as pit stops in the race to get to the end.

You could be the proper weight with the proper BMI and still be unhealthy. Good health is a result of a good diet, good exercise routine, regular health check ups and follow ups, good dental care, a clean body and home atmosphere, and good mental health.

We live in an amazing time. People who lived over 100 years ago who ate food in the purest forms did not live quite as long as we do now. While the ones who had access to food on a regular basis ate the purest foods around and exercise was mandatory as they were not privy to the luxury comforts we have, they still died at an earlier age than we who eat junk and exercise less. The diet of the past serves as only a partial guide to the diet of the future. American pioneers ate considerable amounts of meat and fat and relatively few vegetables. Even people who ate produce were limited by their seasonal availability. So it is not just diet and exercise alone that contributes to your health, but it still is a major component.

Back then, cleanliness was not exactly high on the mandatory level. Unwashed hands between people spread illness faster than anything and there was not much to do to cure or prevent it, so people died off. Today we know that by washing our hands and getting shots as well as staying away from those who are ill and using precautions, we are more than likely to remain free from many diseases that once could claim the lives of whole villages.

Get enough sleep! It is hard to think straight or have the motivation to do what needs to be done in the most efficient way possible if you are sleep deprived. Try to stick to a regular sleep schedule. If you have sleeping problems, consult a doctor instead of taking pills which are not effective over a period of time.

Even simple things such as trying to maintain a sunny disposition and having a positive outlook on life can do wonders in creating a longer lifespan and make you feel good about being alive. Stop worrying over trying to change situations where you are not in control and stop trying to change other people. You can only change yourself. If you can do something productive about a problem, do it instead of think about it. If you can't do anything about the problem, don't worry about and explain that to anyone else who may be involved who might help you with a solution.

Life is too short and can be taken away quite easily. You owe it to yourself to get what it is you want out of life. Good health will contribute to your motivation in doing what it takes to go after the things you want out of life. If you want a better life, one of your first goals should be to do what it takes to improve your health.

I won't feed you some bull that money can't buy happiness - it will!! You could choose to be happy with or without money, but I guarantee you if someone handed you a million dollars you would be happy over the fact that someone gave you a million dollars. Let's be real! Having money will help you do more things, including many of the things that contribute to a fulfilling life.

In a nutshell, figure out what you really want in life, make a plan, and get yourself in better health. By doing all of these things, you are going to feel much better about being alive.
