Make Your Own Blue Cheese Dressing


Blue cheese has a rather pungent smell and taste. It makes a good choice for salads which are filled with astreignent greens and herbs. It is a great compliment to hot wings as the contrast of the high hot mouth feel and tartness of the sauce is balanced with the creaminess, coolness and scent of the blue cheese.

1/4 cup salad oil
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 can (5 oz) evaporated milk
2 tablespoons finely cut fresh onion
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 ounces crumbled Bleu cheese

In a blender on low speed, add one at a time the oil, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and milk. Turn speed up to medium then add the remaining ingredients one at a time. The mixture will be semi-lumpy. Pour into a glass or ceramic container. Will keep up to 1 week.
