Another factor in many cults is the words used within that organization that have no meaning on the outside. Within the group, those words conjure up exact ideas that outsiders cannot comprehend. Here is a list of some of those words and the translation in English:

  1. 607BCE - The beginning of the so-called "Gentile Times" which was used to configure the end times since the end was supposed to be 2520 years [using Bible manipulation] later.
  2. 1914 - October of that year to be exact, was first supposed to be the end, but changed to the time the Christ returned, but invisible. That time was supposed to mark the generation who "would not pass away" [die] before the end [Armageddon]. At first it was those old enough to understand things [over age 15 by 1914] then later changed to those born in 1914 [now all over 88 in 2002]. Today this is something they want to bury and not the only end time prediction gone wrong.
  3. 144,000 - The number of people who have a "Heavenly Hope". The only people from Earth allowed to go to Heaven.
  4. Apostate - Anyone former member who speaks against or is critical of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
  5. Bad Association - Everyone outside of the Jehovah's Witnesses and those within who do not follow the rules. To be avoided at all costs.
  6. Bethel - Workers who donate their time to run the printing press operations at the World Headquarters of the Watchtower And Bible Tract Society in New York.
  7. Blood Card - A card a Witness must carry to alert any emergency team working on them that they will refuse a human blood transfusion and will take an artificial blood transfusion.
  8. Blood Guilt - Anyone who kills another person, eats blood (has a transfusion or literally eats it), or one who does not go out on field service to save humankind from the end which is coming soon.
  9. Brother - A male member of the congregation.
  10. Cut Off - Any former member or one who was kicked out or deemed unworthy of association with current members. When one is cut off, members are not allowed to speak to them, associate with them, or help them in any way - even if they are your own family!
  11. Disassociated - One who formally writes a letter to let everyone know their intentions to have nothing to do with the Jehovah's Witnesses. Subjected to being "cut off" from the members, although "elders" will still try to get them back from time to time.
  12. Disfellowshipped - One who is brought before a committee of elders [and sometimes in absence is tried] and found guilty of breaking rules. Subjected to being "cut off" from the members and must submit to elders punishment to be "re-instated".
  13. End Times/Last Days - The time which allegedly started in 1914 where the world would be faced with great troubles and Armageddon would follow any time soon.
  14. Elders - The male leaders and care takers of the congregation on the local level.
  15. Faithful And Discreet Slave Class - Referring to those in the Watchtower And Bible Tract Society who publish all the books and study material to "feed" its members "spiritual food" from Jehovah at the right time.
  16. Feeding Spiritual Food - A job of handing down instructions and prophecies from Jehovah to His people.
  17. Field Service - Going door to door and in other methods to "spread the good news of the Kingdom." An activity which must be done at least a few hours each month in order to be considered an active and good Jehovah's Witness. Not doing this for long periods of time will render you "blood guilty," "inactive," and "bad association."
  18. Getting In Your Time - A requirement to be considered a good and active Jehovah's witness by meeting the minimum hours each month by going on "field service."
  19. Gilead - A special ministry usually spent in a different country where the hours devoted are much greater than for the average "publisher."
  20. Governing Body - Made up of the board of directors of the Watchtower and Bible Tract Society and a few others who are supposedly in charge of the spiritual direction of this religion.
  21. Great Whore of Babylon - The Catholic Church bore this title most as the organization which flirts with Satanic governmental structures for aid. [Ironically, the Jehovah's Witnesses organization flirted with the same organizations for assistance.]
  22. Greek Scriptures - The New Testaments.
  23. Heavenly Hope - The 144,000 from Earth who will ever see heaven. They are the only ones allowed to partake of symbols at Memorial.
  24. Hebrew Scriptures - The Old Testaments.
  25. Householder - You people who are awakened early on a Saturday morning and subjected to a come on to have a "Bible Study" with the JWs are a "householder."
  26. Kingdom Hall - Don't you dare call it a church! A church is a demonic building which flaunts crosses and flamboyant looks to try and outshine God. A kingdom hall is a simple building without distractions to keep the members focused on the message and not the building.
  27. Memorial - The yearly event and only holy day of the Jehovah's Witnesses where they remember the Last Supper of Jesus which occurred during the Jewish Passover and is held on the same date as the Passover each year. Unleavened bread and wine is passed from member to member to symbolize the body and blood of Jesus, but no one, unless they have the "heavenly hope" is allowed to eat or drink the symbols.
  28. Ministerial Servant - A male member who assists the elders in running the operations of the local congregation.
  29. New System/New World - The period of time after this "wicked world" is destroyed at Armageddon where survivors will transform Earth into a paradise much like the Garden of Eden.
  30. Overseer - Male members appointed to oversee a group of congregations to keep them in line to the standards given by the WTBTS.
  31. Pioneer - There are auxillary, regular and special pioneers who devote more hours than the "publishers" in field service work. Pioneers can spend as much as 120 hours or more doing this work for free.
  32. Publisher - Every member of the Jehovah's Witness organization who is considered a lay minister and must devote at least a minimum set time to do field service work to be considered active and in good standing.
  33. Re-Instated - A person who was disfellowshipped or disassociated who has done everything required by the elders in order to once again become a member in good standing.
  34. Sister - A female member.
  35. Stumble - One who sins or makes a mistake or causes one to sin or make a mistake.
  36. System of Things/Wicked World - The way things are in the "wicked world" right now which is waiting to be destroyed sometime soon.
  37. Territory Card - A card which lists the homes in a certain area for the publishers to hit in "field service." When all of the homes are accounted for, it can be traded for a new territory card to complete. A card is complete only when all homes have had someone answer the door and a conversation was held. When a householder does not answer the door, they will return to that house to complete the card.
  38. The Truth - What a JW feels they have and every other belief system in the world is from Satan.
  39. Theocracy - Also theocractic. Meaning a government ruled by God and not men. JWs do not support manmade governments and are waiting for Jehovah to take over, in the meantime, they will have no allegiance with any government.
  40. Time Card - A way of keeping track of hours spent in field service which must be turned in each month.
  41. Worldly - Anyone who is not a Jehovah's Witness.
