A brand new concept started in Canada as a means to reach teenagers from people who work with teenagers as their day job. Bring about a bunch of average looking youths in which people can relate to and throw them in every possible situation that faces today's teens...at least teens of the late 80s.

This ground-breaking series introduced the characters, most of whom would continue on through high school while a handful would grow up and see the next generation.

Most of the issues brought up in the first season were relatively mild - smoking, loyalty, teacher conspiracy theories, girls versus boys and a few heavier issues such a child abuse and sex.
