Season 1 Review

• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 1 and 2 - We are introduced to the main characters Brian, Michael, Emmett and Ted who are at a club called Babylon. Brian picks up a young boy named Justin for some fun. Michael is almost ready to get lucky with someone he picked up. Michael's date is interrupted when Brian, Justin, and Michael have to rush to the hospital as Linday is at the hospital giving birth to Brian's son, Gus. At work, Michael's co-workers make gay jokes, so he feels he must stay in the closet. A co-worker starts to have feelings for him, but she doesn't know he is gay.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 3 - Lindsay and Melanie have a bris until Brian discovers exactly what a bris is then stops the proceedure. Brian's interference in the life of his son is causing problems between Lindsay and Melanie. Justin is trying to get Brian's attention thinking that he had to be more than just a one night stand and will not take "no" for an answer. Michael is coming out of Babylon and runs into his co-workers. He covers with an excuse to hide the fact that he is gay. Ted picks up a guy named Blake for a night of fun. Blake happens to be a drug addict who gives something to Ted that puts him in a coma. Blake runs off and leaves Ted alone.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 4 - Brian discovers he is the executor of Ted's living will as Ted lies in a coma. Michael and Emmett go to Ted's apartment to hide any embarrassing items and discover that Ted has a crush on Michael. Justin's mother suspects her son is gay as she rumages through his room.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 6Michael has an injury at work as a female co-worker flirts with him. He goes to see a chiropractor for treatment and is aroused, but embarrassed only to learn that the chiropractor is also gay. Brian gets a proposition from an important client who happens to live as a happily married man. Justin tries to make amends with his mother Jennifer.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 6 - Michael starts dating his chiropractor, David. David and Brian don't exactly get along. Ted recovers from his coma and says he wants a stable, mature relationship based on mutual interests and not shallow sexual attraction. He meets a man named Roger who is everything he could ask for in a stable partner but is overweight and a turn off sexually. Justin meets Lindsay who is impressed with his artwork.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 7 - Debbie meets David and is excited her son is dating a doctor. Michael and David spend a weekend in the country. Justin's father learns Justin is gay and wants to send him away to school. Brian and David continue to spare over Michael's attention.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 8 - Justin's father attacks Brian with his car. Michael gets a promotion at work with the facade that he is dating a co-worker. Justin moves in with Brian after a fight with his father.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 9 - Michael decides to break up with David, but David asks Michael to move in with him. Lindsay and Melanie ask Brian to sign over his parental rights to Gus. Emmett becomes addicted to cyber-sex.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 10 - David pressures Michael to move in with him. After trying to nail down a commitment from Brian, Justin is disappointed to learn that Brian does not want a relationship with him. Justin vandalizes Brian's apartment and runs away to New York City. Brian and the gang take a road trip to find Justin. Lindsay and Melanie begin to drift apart.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 11 - Michael ends his relationship with David. When in a drugstore, Ted and Emmett see one of Ted's former lovers picking up a prescription that only someone who was HIV+ would get. Emmett encourages Ted to get tested for AIDS and goes with him to get the test. Emmett, who is the most careful person with sex, worries when the doctor doesn't get right back with the results and thinks he might have AIDS when the doctor asks him back to the office. Emmett makes a pact with God that if he does not have HIV he will never have sex again. Debbie is mad at Brian for stopping Michael from moving on with his life and wants him to do something. Brian throws Michael a surprise 30th birthday party where he invites all his friends including David and the co-worker who is in love with Michael. Brian introduces David to Michael's co-worker as Michael's boyfriend and she runs out humiliated and devastated. David is embarrassed and punches Brian out. The party is over.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 12 - Michael and David bond over the incident at the party. Emmett joins a group that claims it can "cure" homosexuality with the help of God. Lindsay and Melanie fight about Brian, finances and their future.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 13 - Brian sleeps with an ambitious co-worker who thinks he can sleep his way to the top. He is angry to learn he doesn't get a promotion because he is not experienced enough then files a sexual harassment complaint against Brian. Emmett continues to try to go straight. Melanie cheats on Lindsay.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 14 - Melanie helps Brian in a sexual harassment suit. Emmett dates a woman in his get straight group only to discover that neither of them can get into each other no matter how hard they try. Michael lies to David about seeing Brian.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 15 - Lindsay leaves town and has to leave Gus with Brian over the weekend, but is worried he will neglect him to go to the Leather Ball. Melanie comes home early to pick up Gus to find Justin struggling to take care of the baby and jumps to the conclusion that Brian must be out having fun. Instead of having fun, he learns his father, Jack has cancer and tells his father he is gay. Michael is nervous about meeting David's son. Ted experiments in bondage.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 16 - Michael and David have an argument when Michael feels like less than a man since David pays for everything (poor baby!). Guillaume, a French man, moves in with Lindsay and Gus and surprises Melanie and their friends when they learn Guillaume is about to marry Melanie to get a green card. Justin is suspended from school.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 17 - David and Michael host a high society fundraiser for a politician. Michael is embarrassed by his friends and family and fails to invite them, but they crash the party anyway. Michael is the only one bothered about it. Lindsay and Guillaume prepare for the wedding. Justin continues to be harassed at school.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 18 - Brian sees David at the baths with another man. Justin finds out his parents are getting a divorce. Ted runs into with Blake as Blake tries to make amends.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 19 - Brian's father dies and has to attend the funeral. Daphne asks Justin to have sex with her as she wants to see what it feels like. He agrees on the condition that she promises it won't ruin their friendship. Daphne starts to act like a possessive girlfriend and Justin calls her on it. Ted wants Blake, but doesn't know how to deal with his crystal meth addiction.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 20 - There is a contest going on for "King Of Babylon" which is one of the hottest events at Babylon. Justin is still trying to nail Brian in a relationship and is frustrated that Brian takes him for granted, so he enters the contest. Brian, wanting to embarrass David, enters David in the contest only to be surprised that he was a hot contestant. Vic goes to the mens' room in the mall and is set up by a cop and arrested. Justin wins as "King Of Babylon" and not only snubs Brian, but steals his date as well.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 21 - Brian is named "Ad person of the Year" and is asked to consider taking a position that would soon open up in New York City. Vic asks Melanie to represent him in court and initially wants to plead guilty, but decides against it because of Emmett's story. Blake gets a job at Melanie's office and wants to go straight, but has trouble showing up at work. David needs to go to Portland to be there for his son and asks Michael to come with him.
• Queer As Folk, Season 1, Episode 22 - The touching prom episode cliff-hanger when Justin finally gets to dance with Brian, but it ends almost tragically when a group of boys don't like what he is doing. And will Michael go away with his boyfriend or will he stay home?
