Season 2 Review

  • Season 2, Episode 1 - Suffering trauma after being beaten, Justin has amnesia about that night, but Brian can't forget it. Lindsay asks Melanie to marry her at her sister's wedding, but Melanie rejects her as only straight people do that kind of thing. Michael comes back to Pittsburgh without David, but not letting anyone know they broke up. Chris Hobbs is given a slap on the wrist by the judge. Jennifer asks Brian to stay away from her son.
  • Season 2, Episode 2 - Justin cannot stand to be touched or be around crowds and Jennifer asks Brian to help him. Ted is fired when the boss catches him in an embarrassing situation. Michael discovers someone he hates took over his job as assistant manager, but is reluctant to beg for his job back. Michael and Emmett take jobs as naked waiters, but Michael decides he would rather grovel for his job than to be degraded. Melanie who proposes to Lindsay.
  • Season 2, Episode 3 - Brian is asked to accept a hero's award for saving Justin, but is reluctant to do so until Melanie and Lindsay talk him into it under pressure of the committee. Howard Bellweather, Ted's favorite author, protests Brian's award and is quite vocal about it which causes the committee to be nervous about having Brian accept the award, so they ask Melanie and Lindsay to talk him out of it. Brian sees through them and says he will accept the award. "Gay As Blazes" is the hot new show that realistically portrays the lifestyles of gay people, but is really controversial. Brian doesn't believe any gay man could behave that way. Emmett starts working for men who seem like the politically correct characters from "Gay as Blazes" and worries he has corrupted them. Michael wants to reconnect with Brian at the comic convention.
  • Season 2, Episode 4 - Pittsburgh has an annual Pride parade. Ted thinks he is getting lucky only to be disappointed that he was a pity date. Debbie wants to march with Michael who isn't ready to come out of the closet. Emmett is sad over the death of a friend of his who is a crossdresser and suggests a way Michael can march in the parade with his mother. There is tension between Melanie and Lindsay when Melanie's ex-girlfriend comes to town for the parade.
  • Season 2, Episode 5 - Justin quits art school as he's lost the fine motor skills needed to hold a brush, but Brian helps him by buying him a computer to compensate his lack of motor skills. Michael decides to quit the Big Q and buys a comic book store. Ted starts his own porno website.
  • Season 2, Episode 6 - Justin and Brian come to terms with the relationship idea and pursue it with conditions. Ted is expecting a big porn star to show up, but he calls to cancel. Ted gets Emmett to take his place and ends up with bigger results than the porn star would have given him. Michael opens the comic book store and meets a college professor, Ben, who is looking for homo-erotic comics for his class. Ben is impressed with Michael's enthusiasm and asks him to speak to the class. Lindsay is disgusted at Ted's business until she learns Melanie posed nude in a magazine.
  • Season 2, Episode 7 - Michael discovers Ben is HIV+, but wants to date him anyway. Brian, Ted, Emmett, and Debbie are concerned and think Michael is not prepared for the reality of dating a person with HIV. Michael has a wake up call as he is about ready to sleep with Ben and discovers his medicine in the bathroom. Michael breaks up with Ben. Lindsay and Melanie try to get Lindsay's parents pay for their wedding as they did with Lindsay's sister's several weddings, but they refuse as they think a gay wedding is a joke and a waste of money. Ted and Emmett argue over who is responsible for the success of Ted's web site.
  • Season 2, Episode 8 - Michael tries to forget Ben by following his mother's advice and going to a matchmaker. The matchmaker tells Michael to meet his love at a restaurant where he runs into Ben who happens to have a date with someone else. Michael realizes he cannot get over Ben. Justin meets Ethan, a music student who falls in love with Justin. Ethan talks about how he wants a stable relationship and not a one night stand. Justin feels Brian is still taking him for granted and is tempted by Ethan who turns out to be more than a one night stand, breaking the rules of his agreement with Brian. Emmett meets his secret admirer who happens to be a very wealthy, old man, George Schickle of Schickles Pickles.
  • Season 2, Episode 9 - Michael fights to get Ben back in his life by singing a song to him in a karaoke bar. Brian meets his mother's minister and realize he has seen him before at the baths. Ted takes Viagra, but it won't go down!
  • Season 2, Episode 10 - Debbie finds a murdered young man in the trash bin and is outraged that the cops are making homophobic jokes which she finds unacceptable, but finds even more unacceptable that Brian, Emmett and Ted are cracking jokes and Michael is mourning the death of his comic book hero, Captain Astro. Emmett encourages George to live a little. Lindsay is upset when her mother denies her the wedding dress promised to her by her late Grandma Faye only to discover that Faye was a closet lesbian.
  • Season 2, Episode 11 - It's Lindsay and Melanie's wedding day, but a fortune teller predicts doom. Brian has a chance to go to Florida and cancels his plans to show up at the wedding. Brian invited Justin who also cancels his role in the wedding. Nothing else seems to go right and Lindsay has a nervous breakdown and says this is what happens when lesbians try to get married. Melanie is desperate for help and turns to Brian who organizes the wedding and gets help from Emmett's rich boyfriend, George just in time for Brian to go off to Florida alone to enjoy his vacation.
  • Season 2, Episode 12 - Michael discovers Ben once slept Brian and is having a hard time dealing with it. Debbie is frustrated that the police haven't done much about the murdered man and does the detective work herself. She impresses Detective Horvath who asks her out.
  • Season 2, Episode 13 - Divina Devore is a famous drag queen and is in Pittsburg for a few days. Trying to think of an idea for a fund raiser, Michael discovers that Uncle Vic knew Divina and thinks he could ask her to show up to the benefit. Divina turns him down until he realizes he is the son of Debbie who he dated 30 years ago and happens to looks a lot like Michael. Justin becomes a go-go dancer at Babylon to earn money for school, but Brian protests and offers to pay his way through school. Melanie and Lindsay struggle to get Gus accepted for preschool.
  • Season 2, Episode 14 - Justin is caught up in the lifestyle of a go-go dancer and can't seem to focus on school. George offers to take Emmett on a world tour. They decide to join the "Mile High Club," but George dies in the restroom on the plane. Detective Carl Horvath asks Debbie out on a date and she accepts which angers Michael.
  • Season 2, Episode 15 - Michael and Justin decide to create their own comic book with a homosexual hero. George's ex-wife forbids Emmett from speaking at the funeral. Melanie and Lindsay want to renovate their attic, but can't afford it. Leda needs a place to stay and offers to fix the attic in exchange for a place to stay, but seems to come in between Melanie and Lindsay.
  • Season 2, Episode 16 - Brian thinks birthdays are trivial waste of time and ignores Justin's birthday. Melanie and Lindsay take him to a violin concert where he meets Ethan. Michael tries to have a surprise party for Ben who is not in the mood for a party when he learns he is really sick. Ted falls in love with a man named Luke, but Luke can't accept Ted's line of work.
  • Season 2, Episode 17 - Brian cancels his plans with Justin to save his job which would get him promoted to a partner position. Justin goes to Ethan for comfort. Emmett is named in the will of George and is given a lot of money, but George's ex-wife and team of lawyers protest.
  • Season 2, Episode 18 - Ben is hospitalized and Michael worries he might lose him. Brian comforts Michael in his time of need. Justin wishes Brian like Ethan in the romance department and is conflicted. He wants the kind of romance and stability Ethan has to offer, but he is in love with Brian who is not capable of giving him what he wants. Melanie fights the protest of George's ex-wife and lawyers and threatens to make George's tape to Emmett public if he did not get his fair share. They offer Emmett one million dollars on the condition he keeps his relationship with George a secret, but turns down the offer.
  • Season 2, Episode 19 - Michael discovers Justin's affair with Ethan and wants to tell Brian, but is warned by Ben not to get involved. Ted becomes immune to porn and worries he will never have normal sex again. Melanie and Lindsay ask Leda to leave. Debbie challenges Detective Horvath to a game of bowling, his friends versus the gay guys.
  • Season 2, Episode 20 - Justin must choose between Brian and Ethan when Michael tips of Brian of the affair. Brian stages a party to celebrate the new comic book, "Rage", but Michael and Justin are not on speaking terms when Justin discovers it was Michael who squealed on him. Ben plans on a trip which would take him away for six months, but only with if Michael approves. Michael doesn't want to hold him back and gives him his blessings, but Ben decides to stay. Ted discovers he is in love with Emmett. Emmett rejects Ted and Ted is embarrassed until Emmett realizes he is in love with Ted. Ethan shows up at the party, but leaves with Justin.
